Push Button Installation Guide
FRONT BINDING USAGE IS FOR BACKCOUNTRY ONLY!
IF YOU ARE RIDING A CHAIRLIFT DO NOT INSTALL ON YOUR FRONT BINDING. BUMPING THE BUTTON WITH THE CHAIR OR BY ANOTHER PERSON WILL CAUSE YOUR BOARD TO FALL OFF.
INSTALLATION & USAGE
INSTALLING THE L'HIVER
Look for the L or R on the back of the l'hiver to match your binding. Using a #2 Phillips screw driver, remove the stock release lever from your binding. Hold the t-nut at the back in place with your finger or a piece of tape. Install the l'hiver using the same bolt you just removed. Unlike the stock lever that points towards the toe of the binding, the l'hiver points towards and wraps around the heel cup. Tighten the bolt.

POSITIONING THE QUICK RELEASE ARM & GUIDE
Make sure your binding is warm and dry. Dry fit the guide placement before you peel the sticker. Place the guide in a position near the top of your highback, but with enough room for the stick to move up and down to activate the release mechanism without interference with the button. Once you've determined the best position for the guide, wipe the area of the highback with the Bond Enhancer cloth (in a small flat plastic pouch in the box) where the 3M VHB tape will be applied. Once it's dry, peel the backing from the 3M VHB tape and press into place. Apply pressure for a minute or two. It should be there for life. If you feel you need the zip ties for back up, slide one through each of the guide slots between the sticky and the hole for the stick, and tighten.
PUSH BUTTON POSITIONING & ADJUSTMENT
Rotate the release button in either direction to raise or lower the release button.
KIDS / SMALL / MEDIUM BINDINGS - Adjust the button all the way down onto the stick so that no thread is showing. It's OK that it will stick up above your highback.
LARGE & XL BINDINGS - Place one, two or three of the included spacers onto the threaded part of the Push Button and screw it down tight until no thread is showing.
RELEASING YOUR BOOT
Push down on the the Push Button to release the binding. Step up and out. Don't hold down the button and try to step out as the Step ON® binding was designed to not release in that scenario. Simply push the button down, let go and lift your heel up and out of the binding in one smooth motion. Depending on the model and age of your binding the action can be stiffer than you'd expect. That is normal. The Step ON® binding is designed to stay in the open position until the boot is lifted. Perfect for pushing down as you approach the lift line and then lifting your boot out as you come to a stop.
THERE'S A TEMPTATION TO PUT THE BUTTON AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE. DON'T. THIS MAKES IT VULNERABLE TO BREAKING BY BEING KICKED WHEN YOU SKATE, BEING STEPPED ON IN THE LIFT LINE AND HOOKING ON THINGS.
TO AVOID CRUSHING THE PUSH BUTTON QUICK RELEASE WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE CHAIR, ALWAYS FOLD YOUR HIGHBACK DOWN WHEN YOU ARE GETTING ON THE CHAIR.
I'd love to see your set up. Send a photo of your installation to main@prostandard.com
